Food Donation at Infant Jesus Children's Home
On 26th November 2022, the Dhatri Patra Foundation carried out a heartfelt food donation drive at Infant Jesus Children's Home in Kothanur, Bangalore—an orphanage committed to caring for children without families. The event aimed not only to provide nutritional support but also to bring moments of joy and connection to the lives of these young individuals. Volunteers were warmly welcomed by the children and the dedicated sisters who manage the home. A generous supply of food essentials—including rice, lentils, vegetables, fruits, and dairy—was donated, sufficient to meet the orphanage’s needs for an entire month. In addition, a wholesome lunch featuring favorites like vegetable biryani, curd rice, and fruit salad was lovingly prepared and served. The day was filled with fun and engagement, including musical chairs, a treasure hunt, and storytelling, all of which sparked joy and laughter among the children. This visit also shed light on the ongoing struggles faced by such institutions in providing consistent care and nutrition. The resilience and commitment shown by the sisters in creating a nurturing environment deeply moved the volunteers and emphasized the importance of continuous support. Motivated by the experience, the Foundation now plans to launch a monthly food donation initiative and conduct workshops on health and hygiene, aiming to empower the children with essential life skills for a brighter, healthier future.
